Barrio Geek is a home-technology company for Tucson and the surrounding metro. We install and set up security cameras, video doorbells, smart-home devices, mesh WiFi, and wall-mounted TVs — and we make sure you actually know how to use them before we leave.
The 35 years
Shawn Lopez started wiring, mounting, and troubleshooting at 15. Most of those years were spent running media and live-streaming teams for churches around Tucson — installing their audio and camera systems, building their control rooms, and directing what happens on stage on a Sunday morning.
That work rewards the same things a good home install does: plan the cable path before you cut, label everything, test it under load, and hand over something the next person can operate without calling you. Churches still call. So do homeowners, for the same reasons.

Licensing
We focus on residential low-voltage work — cameras, networking, smart-home devices, mesh WiFi, and TV mounting — which does not require an Arizona contractor (ROC) license, and we keep every job under the state’s handyman threshold. If a job needs a licensed electrician or a permit, we’ll tell you plainly and point you in the right direction.
Every job is backed by a written workmanship guarantee, and equipment carries its manufacturer’s warranty.
